The Common Application - New Member Summit

The Member’s Summit is an event I’ve been photographing for the past 3 years. I am grateful to have worked with The Common App as I myself am and advocator of higher education and I love that I get to tell stories of those truly dedicating their lives to higher education. The summit is a place where members can share best practices, network, build community, and grow towards a common goal of helping students achieve even their greatest endeavors. This is the kind of “juice” I use to excite myself when photographing the conference. I do a lot of conferences and I pay attention to the details and what specific organizations are doing to better the world. When I realize in my head the dedication and commitment the attendees have to a greater good - it makes me realize no, this is not just “another conference.” It quickly becomes evident the energy and the drive that The Common App has to higher education and my awareness of this allows me to laser focus on capturing the special moments that come along with hundreds of people getting together with a common goal.
